About Sumaiya Tufail
Sumaiya Tufail is a nonprofit leader, human rights advocate, educator, and award-winning storyteller with a degree in International Studies from Simon Fraser University.
Her work spans multi-channel fundraising strategy, narrative consulting, and leadership development for mission driven organizations. She brings over a decade of experience supporting grassroots and national nonprofits across Canada, the U.S., and East Africa.
Sumaiya previously founded two nonprofit initiatives in Mombasa, Kenya—one supporting underserved communities including orphans and single mothers, and another focused on empowering local women through business education and skills training. She currently serves as the Board Chair of Rebirth of a Queen, a safehouse and social enterprise supporting survivors of SGBV in Kenya.
With an academic background in conflict studies, Islamic theology, and narrative design, she bridges strategy and spirituality with cultural depth, clarity, and purpose.
